Before move day in Palo Alto
Parking a moving truck in Palo Alto
Palo Alto lets you reserve street space for a moving truck when there is no off-street option. Who you contact depends on the street.
- Residential streets: call Police Parking Enforcement at 650-329-2258 to request temporary no-parking signs. A Community Service Officer follows up.
- Commercial areas: call Development Services at 650-329-2496, option 1.
- Downtown business districts: loading between 11am and 6pm has to stay in the curb lane unless the city issues a hardship permit.
- A moving pod on the street needs a separate encroachment permit (650-329-2496, option 8).
